Alex Catarinella

Alex Catarinella caught the writer's bug at age 11 by creating 'The Spice Gazette' circa AOL's golden years, though it disbanded as a result of his devastation following Ginger Spice's departure. Nowadays, Alex is a freelancing writing machine, and has contributed to MTV Style, ELLE, Paper, Milk Made, Wonderland, i-D, Dazed & Confused, NY Mag, Huffington Post, just to name a few. His personal career highlights include interviews with a slew of living legends, like Patti Smith and most recently Courtney Love, in addition to making one of his tween dreams a reality… by interviewing another legend, Scary Spice (twice!) without fainting.

MAX FISH x KLUGHAUS x DKNY x DKNY JEANS

We know you too have been mourning the loss of legendary Lower East Side bar, Max Fish, since it shuttered its iconic doors in late July. I personally will forever cherish my Ryan Gosling sighting. I'll never forget the several times I got accidentally struck by a pool stick (it was always really cr

ALEX'S WORD WITH: CULLEN OMORI OF SMITH WESTERNS

Everyone knows the ‘90s have made a comeback. Big time. Icona Pop reminds us this via their inescapable crazily addictive smash, “I Love It.” (We just can’t quit you, ladies.) And let’s not forget DKNY’s ‘90s revival Opening Ceremony collection, okay? But, let’s be honest, not everyo

ALEX'S WORD WITH: NATALIA KILLS

I met Natalia Kills long before she was showering herself in bills, bills, bills in music videos with will.i.am, turning many a fashion heavyweight’s head (Jeremy Scott and Prabal Gurung are amongst her fashiony fans), and going on tour with, you know, Ms. Katy Perry. *Faints* It’s been far too

ALEX'S WORD WITH: ALEXIS KRAUSS

Two words: Sleigh Bells. We can also go with “Slaying It” because that’s what the dizzying noise punk-pop duo (vocalist Alexis Krauss and Derek Edward Miller) have been awesomely accomplishing. Let’s discuss their importance: just last week, while waiting to watch then obsess over the Disney
